About Kwibesha

10 Nov 2008

Kwibesha is very playful with Bonane his older brother, and Ruzizi his uncle. They often chase after one another at breakneck speed through the forest. It is a wonder they never actually hurt themselves!

Becoming a Juvenile meant that Kwibesha could build his own nest each night and so could sleep by himself, without Janja. Mountain Gorillas become Sub-Adult when they are six years old.

Kwibesha means “to make a mistake” and was the name of a Ranger who died who worked for many years at Lulimbi station on the southern shores of Lake Edward.
